We are gearing up to celebrate a very special anniversary at the Melrose tower: the bells were consecrated 40th years ago this month. To celebrate, we'd love for you to come visit us and partake in, of all things, a weekend of ringing!

Here are our current plans.

Friday, 1/24, 7pm to 9pm: tied tower ringing, handbells, and fondue!

Saturday, 1/25, 10am to 5pm: ringing all day in Brewster. We'll certainly ring several plain major methods (Plain and Little Bob, St Clement's, and Double Norwich), Grandsire and Stedman Triples, and surprise major (as many "standard eight" methods, possibly spliced, as we have a quorum for). There will be rounds, call changes, and plain hunt as well, to help our learners and junior band continue to progress.

(We have the convent's handbells available to us, and I'm sure we can talk others into bringing their sets on Saturday handbell ringing.)

After ringing, we will repair to a local restaurant (to be determined) for dinner.

If you would like to join us for all or part of the weekend, please do let me know. We look forward to sharing this special anniversary with you!

Best regards (and fervent wishes that you are staying warm),

- Matt Bogen
