SCHEDULE
Thursday, September 22 – 10 am
through
Sunday, September 25 – 1:30 pm
Wednesday evening (6pm – 8pm) is our weekly learners practice time, which focuses on bell handling. All are welcome to join this practice.
Ringing Course: There is no ringing course planned at this time.
Organization: Ringing will be separated into general ringing sessions and quarter peals.
General Ringing: Each general ringing session will have a particular focus (e.g. rounds & call changes, Plain Bob & Grandsire, Kent & Stedman, Surprise). The detailed schedule will indicate the focus for each general ringing session.
Quarter Peals: Time has been allocated for Quarter Peals. These will be pre-organized and details will be posted in the tower. Bands will be organized based on the information provided in the registration forms.
Peals: A Peal attempt has been scheduled for Sunday, September 25. Start time to be confirmed, but is tentatively set at 2pm.
Detailed Schedule: A detailed schedule will be posted once more information has been gathered from registration forms.
REGISTRATION
The registration form has been posted in the Clapper. An electronic version of the registration form has also been posted here.
Registration is only required for ringers, and will be as follows:

Cost: $25.00
Registration after July 31, 2011
Will be accepted, however, availability for organized ringing and dinners may be limited.
Cost: $35.00

GETTING THERE
Public Transit
Public transit in Toronto is operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and uses a variety of options including: subway, streetcar, and bus. Details on the TTC routes, schedules, etc. can be found at: http://www3.ttc.ca/

Getting to the Cathedral from the Airport
1. Toronto Pearson Airport
Most commercial flights will arrive at Pearson Airport. Options for getting downtown include:

Public Transit: There are public transit options available from the airport to downtown Toronto.

2. Toronto City Centre Airport
Flights from certain Canadian and US cities via Porter Airlines and Air Canada operate out of the Toronto City Centre Airport. Options for getting downtown include:
Cab: Available at the arrivals terminal; Cost will be fared, and will likely be under $20 to the Cathedral area.
Shuttle: Frequent runs to Union station; No cost.
Public Transit: There are public transit options available from the airport to downtown Toronto.

Getting to the Cathedral from the Train Station
VIA Rail arrives at Union Station, which is about 6 blocks from the Cathedral. You can either walk, or take a cab from Union Station to the tower.
Getting to the Cathedral by Car

Rush hour traffic in Toronto is typically on weekdays between 7am – 10am (coming into the city) and 3pm-6pm (leaving the city). Allow for extra time if you plan to drive into or out of the city during these times.
ACCOMMODATION
There are several lodging options near the Cathedral. Two options within the same block of the tower are:

Corporate Rate: A corporate rate of $119.00 sgl/dbl occupancy has been arranged for ringers, under the Anglican Diocese of Toronto. This includes a complimentary hot breakfast bar.

Rooms are on a first come, first served basis, with no cut-off date.

MEALS AND RESTAURANTS
Meals for ringers will be as follows:
- Breakfast and lunch each day will be on-your-own.
- Thursday dinner will be on-your-own.
- Friday and Saturday dinner events will be organized (see Organized Events).
- Sunday meals will be on-your-own.
- Light refreshments and snacks will be provided in the tower.
There are many restaurants and eateries surrounding the Cathedral. Information will be provided in your registration package when you arrive and at the tower.

ORGANIZED EVENTS
There will be several organized events as follows:
1. Thursday, Welcome Social and Registration
A welcome social event will be held on Thursday evening. Registration will be available for those that did not register during the day. Light refreshments will be provided.
Cost: No charge.
Location: St. George's Chapel (in St. James Cathedral).
2. Friday Dinner, Royal Canadian Yacht Club
Cost: This is a sponsored event (no cost). Contributions towards incidental costs are appreciated. Donations will be used for the St. James’ Bell Tower Rope Fund.
Location: This Event will be hosted at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on Toronto’s Centre Island.
More information on the location and how to get there will be provided with the registration package.
3. Saturday AGM, Hilton Garden Inn
The AGM will be held on Saturday afternoon between 3:30 pm and 5:00pm.
Location: Hilton Garden Inn located at 241 Jarvis St (at Dundas). Maps will be provided with the registration package.
4. Saturday AGM Dinner, Hot House Cafe
Cost: $40 per person; Children under 15 are free
Location: The Hot House Cafe located at 35 Church St (at Front). Maps will be provided with the registration package.
5. Sunday, Goodbye Social
A goodbye social event will be held after service ringing on Sunday morning. Light refreshments will be provided.
Cost: No charge.
Location: St. George's Chapel (in St. James Cathedral).
AGM GOLF SHIRTS
2011 AGM golf shirts have been pre-ordered. Some extra shirts will be available at the event, however, sizes are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Cost: $40.
TOURING TORONTO
Organized Tours: There will be no organized outings or tours of Toronto and the surrounding area.
However, there are many activities for those interested, including: Niagara Falls, The Niagara Wine Region, CN Tower Tour, Casa Loma, Centre Island, The Hockey Hall of Fame, Blue Jays Baseball games, St. Lawrence Market, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Royal Ontario Museum, Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
