Québec City Annual Ringing Weekend
Québec City area
Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Québec City, Québec
St-Matthew's, Québec City, Québec
May 27–30, 2011
The Québec City Guild of Change Ringers is looking forward to hosting the annual Québec City May Weekend which is held each year over the U.S. Memorial Day long weekend; in 2011 from Friday May 27th to Monday 30th 2011.
There are no charges for the Québec City May Weekend. This tends to be a very informal weekend. We are organizing a catered dinner for everyone on Saturday evening which will include chicken, fish, and vegetarian dishes. The cost for the dinner will be about $20. Wine and beer is available at local stores.
There will be ringing at the Cathedral late Friday afternoon for those who arrive early. There will be ringing on Saturday morning at the Cathedral, and Saturday afternoon at both the Cathedral and at St Matthew's Bell Tower. On Sunday there will be service ringing at the Cathedral in the morning and ringing at both towers in the afternoon. For those who can stay on a bit longer, the weekend will finish with more ringing at the Cathedral on Monday morning.
Accommodation can be found at many hotels, B&Bs, and youth hostels inside the walls of the "old city" and within walking distance of Québec City's two bell towers, Holy Trinity and St Matthew's. Information and reservations are available by making a free call to 1.877.BONJOUR (1-877-266-5687).
If you are planning to attend, we would appreciate it if you could let us know any time before the May weekend. Please include information as to whether you would be willing to lead a ringing session, what you would like to ring, and whether you would be interested in ringing in quarters if they can be arranged.
If you would like to contact the Québec City Guild of Change Ringers for more information, please send an email to the Tower Captain, Douglas Kitson, at Quebec.Ringers@POBox.Com or telephone 418-948-3358. We can also be contacted by the free SKYPE VoIP service at "SkwrHdz".
